Admissions at Central Carolina Academy

Applying to Be a CCA Student

As Central Carolina Academy continues to expand to full enrollment capacity over several years, there are still seats available in some grade levels. Anyone interested in attending CCA in the upcoming school year should complete the online application which starts with creating a Lotterease account. Please enter all required information carefully to ensure accuracy.

Once an application has been submitted, families will receive a confirmation email from Central_Carolina_Academy@lotterease.com within 24 hours of submission. If not, please check spam and junk folders and update settings to allow emails from this sender.

Applicants will be notified by email if a seat is available or of their placement on the waitlist. Accepted students will have a specified period to respond to their acceptance letter.

Current CCA students do not have to reapply.

For more information or for assistance in applying, contact Director of Admissions, Julia-Brent Milholen by email or phone (919-930-8058).

Overview

Central Carolina Academy is a tuition-free public school. To qualify to attend a North Carolina public school, a student must be a resident of North Carolina. County boundaries or school attendance areas do not affect charter school enrollment. Central Carolina Academy does not limit admission to students on the basis of intellectual ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, athletic ability, disability, race, creed, gender, national origin, or ancestry.

Lottery Information

A lottery is used because more students apply for admission than can be enrolled per grade level. The new student lottery application period for the 2024-2025 school year opened on October 1, 2023 and closed on January 12, 2024.

Central Carolina Academy administers all education programs, employment activities, and admissions without discrimination against any person on the basis of gender, race, color, religion, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability, or other legally-protected classification.
