The administration of Central Carolina Academy is thrilled to report that the facility renovations were completed in mid-July. Furniture and other equipment have been arriving and will be in place for the school year to begin. Students and families will be able to tour the building during Open House on August 8th.

Principal Greg Batten prepares to welcome students, staff, and families to the completed building.

Central Carolina Academy occupies the former corporate building previously owned by The Pantry and Circle K on Douglas Drive in Sanford. The building conversion began in February of 2022 and was divided into two phases. Phase one created classrooms on the third floor and an office suite on the second floor. With its completion, the school was able to hold classes on the third floor. Phase two involved remaining renovations on the first and second floors.

Omega Construction staff join Superintendent Dr. John Eldridge after the building certificate of occupancy was received.

Classrooms are spread throughout the three floors. Most are fairly traditional in size, but four classrooms, two on the first floor and two on the second floor, have unique garage door dividers. When opened, they will allow the school to hold large group meetings. There is a lunch area on the first floor.

A few weeks after the school year begins, school leaders plan to hold a welcoming event to which the public will be invited to visit the campus.
