Canvas Parent

Central Carolina Academy will use Canvas as its learning management system.  What is Canvas? 

(Please note that PowerSchool is the school's official Student Information System and that final grades that appear in Canvas may not reflect the official grade that is recorded in PowerSchool.  In regard to grades, parents should only use Canvas to see individual assignment/task grades and teacher comments. A PowerSchool Parent Portal Account is needed to access a student’s PowerSchool information. To request a Parent Portal Account, CLICK HERE.)

Parents - Stay connected with the Canvas Parent Account.

    • Canvas Parent enhances the potential for parents to engage in their children's education. Parents can review upcoming or past assignments, check on grades, and receive alerts for student activity.

    • Canvas Parent can be used by any Canvas user with an observer account.

    • Canvas Parent can be accessed from any browser using the Desktop Login

    • Parents can use the Canvas Parent app on Android devices using Android 5.0 or later and iOS devices using iOS 10.0 or later.

Canvas Parent Accounts should be created using a web browser rather than a mobile device. The mobile app is an option but the information displayed is limited therefore we strongly recommend using the desktop/web browser option.

The first requirement is to retrieve your student's PAIRING CODE from their Canvas student account settings.

Step 1 - Have your student sign into their Central Carolina Academy Canvas account.  

Step 2 - From the global navigation of Canvas, select ACCOUNT and then choose SETTINGS.

Step 3 - Select Pair with Observer from the options bar on the right side of the settings page.

Step 4 - Copy the pairing code generated.  This is needed to link a parent (observer) to the student.

Step 1 -To create an account from a desktop use this link https://centralcarolinaacademy.instructure.com/login/canvas and click the 

Need a Canvas Account?  Click Here, It's Free! option.

Step 2 - Click Parents Sign Up Here

Step 3 - Enter the required information which includes your student's Pairing Code.

 

Click START PARTICIPATING

If you would like to add the app to your mobile phone simply download the Canvas Parent App from the Apple App Store for IOS devices and from Google Play for Android devices.

Once the Parent App is downloaded to your device, open the app and tap Find My School.

Enter Central Carolina Academy 

This should take you to the https://centralcarolinaacademy.instructure.com login page.

If you didn't create an account through a web browser you will need to create it through the app following the same steps as above.

If you did create your account using a web browser, enter your login credentials and you will be directed to your mobile app account.
